December 06, 2012, In keeping with the objective of the Abhyankar’s IAS Academy to provide multiple platforms for students to build a community wherein exchange of ideas and thoughts would be facilitated, the first Dr. Ajit Memorial Lecture Series was organized on December 06, 2012.
The Chief Guest, Shri. Nandkumar Saravade, an ex-IPS officer, is currently working in a private sector organization. He has had a varied and rich experience serving in various capacities in different organizations which included the NASSCOM and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The Guest of Honour for the Lecture Series was Dr. Pradnya Saravade (I.P.S), currently posted as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) with City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. (CIDCO). Both the speakers have a rich and diverse work experience and through their talks provided multiple insights to the students. The highlight of both their talks was the need to focus on the goal of public good which would serve as the guiding principle for activities as a civil servant.
Pointing out to the changing ethos of the services, Dr. Saravade elaborated on the need to have a clear mind that moves in the right direction while aspiring for the services. Shri. Saravade shared his experience by highlighting the challenges and high points of his career, pointing out that it was a career with its set of challenges but also one which gives satisfaction. The lectures were followed by an interactive questions and answers round between the guests and the students of the Academy, which enabled students to gain an understanding of various aspects of a career and life in the services.
